Overview

Located in the charming town of Maiori, Italy, o Barao bistrot brasiliano offers a distinctive dining experience that stands out from the typical Italian fare. Nestled on Via Casa Mannini, this small bistrot crafts a unique culinary bridge between Brazilian flavors and Italian sensibilities. Its intimate, cozy space—with tables and chairs a bit compact for larger guests—creates a warm, inviting atmosphere perfect for casual meals or relaxed dates, especially with the option to sit outdoors and enjoy the Mediterranean breeze.

The menu is a thoughtful blend of Brazilian classics and café culture staples. Highlights include the Jesus Burger, a local favorite celebrated for its rich, satisfying taste and generous portion size, and the Costa d’Amalfi Hamburger, which nods respectfully to the bistrot’s Italian surroundings. For those seeking lighter options, the Chicken Salad and English Breakfast provide hearty, fresh alternatives. The dessert selection offers Brazilian twists, such as the coconut cake and caramel pudding, each crafted with care and authenticity. The Pancake Con Dolce Di Latte E Frutta and the platano chips add a sweet and savory balance to the lineup.

Beverage options are equally notable, with expertly brewed espresso and aromatic Arabica coffee serving as a foundation. Specialty drinks like the Matcha Latte and the Cappuccino Reale complement the food beautifully, while the Brazilian ale offers a refreshing pairing for the heartier dishes. The attention to detail in each cup reflects a commitment to quality that elevates the overall dining experience.

Service at o Barao bistrot brasiliano is swift and professional, with staff knowledgeable about the menu and eager to guide guests through portions and pairings. While portions are generous and the food consistently praised for its flavor and authenticity, visitors should be aware of dining hours that strictly separate lunch and dinner service. This structure, along with an unlisted coperto charge, may require some planning but does little to detract from the overall positive impression.

This bistrot caters to a diverse audience—from travelers seeking something beyond pizza and pasta, to local food lovers craving bold, new tastes. It also welcomes those with dietary needs, including gluten-free options, demonstrating inclusivity in its offerings. Whether you’re indulging in a hearty burger or savoring a delicate espresso, o Barao bistrot brasiliano promises a fresh and memorable taste of Brazil right in the heart of Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

On the small town with many pastry, pizza and bread, is very good to find a place where can have beef meat and good arabica coffee. Not just very strong espresso Italiano! The restaurant is very small with cozy decoration. Chairs are a lil to small for the European size or American size and the table small too The service was fast and professional but the surprise come in the end when we payed coperto (4 euro ) but was not written in menu. Also for the traveler .. the restaurant dont serve food between the ours of serving foor Lunch 12-14 Dinner 18.30-22 We were surprised snd have to wait 2 h

The best burger I have ever eaten in my whole life!! Oh also these banana chips...what a taste!! It's so bad we don't have these burgers in Greece! The dessert was similar like our creme brule.

One of my top 3 burger joints I have ever had the pleasure of eating in, I had the Bom Jesus da lapa burger which was absolutely delicious. My wife had the Costa D'Amalfi which she said was also delicious. I then had the Brazilian coconut cake and ice cream which was to die for and my wife had the Brazilian caramel pudding which she really enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even advised us to share 1 portion of fries given the size of the burgers. The service was excellent, did not wait very long for our food to be served. If you like a beer with your burger, try the Brazilian ale, again very nice and went down a treat. Would certainly go back.

If you've had enough pizza, this is the place to be. Great food, good prices. The seats and the tables are a bit to small, but the portions are generous and very tasty. I was absolutely sfutted, highly recommend it.

First off, great gluten-free options for my wife. This is a great restaurant off the main street. The restaurant is SO clean and has a standout style and decor. The food is unique and special and definitely not pasta and pizza! :-) The care and thought in all the food was evident. Definitely go -- we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Sitting outside was a chill and wonderful date vibe.

We loved the service and food so much we returned again! Burger was excellent, better than the piccanha steak which was a bit bland and could’ve used more seasoning, but maybe this is how they eat it in Brazil? Regardless, good beer selection and really friendly service to us Americans. Their fries are awesome! Lots to choose from here.

Excellent service and environment. Day 1: Dinner: My son had the "Tamboré" dish, a delicious hamburger topped with Brazilian vinaigrette sauce and incredible mandioca with onions. My wife and I had the "Franguim" salad, which was a fresh chicken salad. A perfect spot for a taste of Brazil. Excellent service!! Day2: We had an amazing lunch! This time we tried the "dadinho de tapioca" for absolutely delicious for entree. For the main course, we had the “Bom Jesus da Lapa” and the “Tijuca” omelet both were full of flavor. We ended with a slice of cake and a great cup of Brazilian coffee. Everything was spot on! You must try!

Wow! First off, who knew I would find the best Brazilian food I’ve ever had in Maiori, Italy of all places! The service was amazing and the food was even better. If you need a small break from pizza or pasta, this is the place. Without a doubt, some of the best French fries I’ve ever had!? Who knew. Highly recommend.
